5. Mad-Eye Moody/Barty Crouch Junior – Performed The Imperius Curse On His Students
In Harry’s first Defence Against the Dark Arts lesson in The Goblet of Fire, Mad-Eye Moody demonstrates all three Unforgivable Curses on a spider. He also reveals that the use of any of these spells is illegal and can lead to a life sentence in Azkaban.
But this doesn’t stop him using one of them on Harry and his classmates later on. One by one, Moody calls up each student and casts the Imperius Curse. He even manages to persuade Neville to perform a set of astonishing gymnastics.
Of course, Moody is later revealed to be a Death Eater named Barty Crouch Junior, which is why he had such a passive attitude towards the curse. But given the real Moody’s aggression, chances are he’d have done something similar if he’d been teaching the class himself.
