4. Severus Snape – Bullied Harry Because He Hated His Father
Whether you love him or hate him, Severus Snape is the most morally complex and interesting character in Harry Potter. As fascinating as he is, Snape can also be pretty horrid at times.
From the moment Harry arrives at Hogwarts, Snape actively dislikes him because he’s a constant reminder that Lily had loved James, and as such, he takes every opportunity to torment him.
Treating someone in such a way purely because you dislike their father is simply unfair. Though Harry looks like James, he is much more similar to his mother in terms of his personality.
Of course, Snape redeems himself by saving Harry’s life on several occasions, but this still doesn’t change the fact he bullies him based on something he has no control over.
