Harry Potter: 10 Ways The Muggle World Would Inevitably Discover Wizards

5. Medical Treatment

On several occasions, Harry and his friends been sent to the Hogwarts hospital wing for various injuries. Madame Pomfrey, the nurse, is able to cure maladies ranging from physical to mental with an array of specialized spells and potions. More serious injuries are sent to St. Mungo€™s, which is the wizarding hospital in the heart of London. There, an assortment of Healers have even stronger methods at their disposal to heal all kinds of magical maladies, or care for those who are not curable. They even treat Muggles who have been the unwitting recipients of magical curses, such as Junior Minister Herbert Chorley in Half-Blood Prince. But if Harry can take a dose of Skele-Gro and restore all of the bones in his arm in Chamber of Secrets, and Arthur Weasley can recover from a debilitating snake bite in Order of the Phoenix, why can€™t the wizarding world share these medical miracles? Do Healers take the Hippocratic Oath? Would they be obligated to heal an injured Muggle if they came upon him? How about a Muggle relation of a wizarding family? Is there a potion to cure cancer or any other debilitating disease? Which is the greater good; the secrecy of the wizarding world, or the life of a Muggle who can be saved by magic?
