Harry Potter: 10 Worst Things Dolores Umbridge Has Ever Done

After replacing Dumbledore as the Head of Hogwarts, Umbridge tries to bring every aspect of the castle under her control. So, as well as befriending Argus Filch, the mad caretaker, she also creates the Inquisitorial Squad.

The Inquisitorial Squad is a select group of students handpicked by Umbridge. Their job is to monitor behaviour and punish wrongdoers by deducting house points. However, due to the fact that every member of the Inquisitorial Squad is a Slytherin, the whole system is corrupt.

Before long, the other three houses – but especially Gryffindor – are trailing behind Slytherin as more and more points are taken away from them. Worse still, the reasons they use to justify the point deductions are pathetic. Malfoy even docks ten points from Hermione because she’s a Muggle-born.

Far from monitoring behaviour, the Inquisitorial Squad are hellbent on abusing their power as much as possible, and Umbridge does nothing to stop them.
