Harry Potter: 10 Worst Things Snape Ever Did

This is yet another moment that’s absent in the movies. Whilst we do get a brief look at Snape being bullied by James, the details of the scene are lacking.

Simply because they’re bored, James and Sirius start to abuse Snape in front of a sea of onlookers. They rob him of his wand, turn him upside down, and make him cough up soap suds amongst gales of laughter.

Lily arrives to put a stop to the boys’ antics. She asks James to leave Snape alone, but far from thanking Lily, Snape says he doesn’t need her help because she’s a ‘mudblood’. As well as being ungrateful, this is a foul thing to call someone who’s Muggle-born.

Towards the end of The Deathly Hallows, we learn Snape apologised later on. Unsurprisingly, Lily didn’t forgive him and severed their friendship permanently.
