Harry Potter: 12 Best Supporting Characters

9. Fred And George Weasley

Ron's older brothers provide a pretty constant stream of comic relief in both the books and films, and - outside of Ginny - are easily the Weasley characters with the biggest presence across the series, from their toilet seat-related hijinks early on through their entrepreneurial prowess across the latter half of its run.

It may seem like something of a cop-out to include them both together here, but they are practically inseparable onscreen; more so than in the books at any rate, where their nuanced differences are arguably more pronounced.

Their significant contributions to Harry's overarching narrative remain preserved in the films too, with both on hand to give him the Marauder's Map in Prisoner of Azkaban and to help Dumbledore's Army rebel in Order of the Phoenix (though the trio's financial partnership to help found Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes does admittedly miss the cut on the big screen.)
