Harry Potter: 12 Wands That Perfectly Reflect Their Owners

8. Fleur Delacour

In the books, Fleur's wand is examined by Mr Ollivander along with the others owned by the Triwizard Tournament champions. Rowling reveals that it is made of rosewood and has a core different to those favoured by every English wizard's go-to wand maker.

In traditional circles, this wood is said to be primarily feminine and focused on spiritual health and beauty. The unique wand core comes from a Veela, the magical epitome of female desirability. To put it simply, every aspect of this wand is special and uniquely focused on beauty.

Surely, when preparing to film The Goblet of Fire for the screen, the design team must have seen the look of this wand as a landmark challenge. It was, of course, designed to be more intricately patterned than others seen before it. The spiral aspect of the handle had not been seen before, and yet like Parvati's this also fits nicely in the hand. Furthermore, the pattern of leaves curling around the shaft is an unexpected element of beauty.

They set out to create something special, and they succeeded.
