J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World was never thin on detail. Throughout her seven-part fantasy series she treated readers to a varied and nuanced world that was both cosy and frightening in equal measure.

As well as populating her world with a huge number of distinctive characters, Rowling also brought plenty of personality to her magical environment. From the moment Harry first entered Diagon Alley back in The Philosopher’s Stone, it was clear that the world around him had been built with an impressive degree of originality and attention to detail.

One of the best elements of the items in Rowling’s world was how she took ordinary things and gave them a magical twist. Sweets, collectable cards, chess, books, newspapers, and the postal service, are all examples of everyday items that Rowling morphed into her own magical setting. Indeed, it’s this technique that really brought her world to life.

As such, Harry, Ron and Hermione possessed plenty of items throughout the series, many of which were invaluable assets during their adventures at Hogwarts and beyond.
