Harry Potter: Ranking Every Death Eater From Worst To Best

8. The Carrows

Death Eaters Harry Potter
Warner Bros.

Though they do technically appear in the the Deathly Hallows, Amycus and Alecto Carrow's roles in the movies are greatly decreased from the books. Relegated to non speaking roles on screen, the siblings were appointed the new Defence Against the Dark Arts teachers when Hogwarts went into lock down.

As Neville explained, it wasn't so much 'Defence Against' as it was practice, as the Carrows forced the students to use the Cruciatus Curse on first years. If they refused, they were hurt. Their journey seemingly came to end as Severus Snape deflected one of Professor McGonagall's attacks in their direction after Harry and co. returned to the Hogwarts great hall.

Though they were loyal enough to the Dark Lord, they were never really tasked with much more than punishing those in Hogwarts and teaching them that muggles, and anyone other than pure bloods, were the enemy.
