Professor Dumbledore is the ultimate mentor. This wise man guides and protects Harry throughout the franchise and continues to do so from beyond the grave.
No other character has so many quotable lines. Every time Harry talks to Dumbledore, he always says something worth remembering. His magical knowledge and his life experiences are second to none. Given his remarkable ability, his duel with the Dark Lord during the climax of The Order of the Phoenix is one of the greatest battles in the franchise.
This fascinating character is made still more interesting in The Deathly Hallows when we learn more about his backstory. Rowling reveals Dumbledore’s troubled youth, his lust for power, his conflict with Aberforth, and the death of his family members.
Such a backstory humanises Dumbledore and makes him sympathetic as well as awesome. As such, he's one of the most nuanced and entertaining characters in the entire wizarding world.
