Harry Potter: Ranking Every Hogwarts Teacher From Worst To Best

Professor Sprout is the Herbology teacher and the head of Hufflepuff House. Her lessons are jampacked and dangerous. Over the years, Harry and his classmates have to tackle all sorts of nasty plants, including the Venomous Tentacula, Snargaluff Pods, and Leaping Toadstools.

The Herbology teacher also plays a key role in The Chamber of Secrets. With the help of the Hogwarts matron – Madame Pomfrey – she uses Mandrake juice to resurrect those who’ve been petrified by the Basilisk.

Like Madam Hooch, however, she’s just a background character for most of the story. She crops up at major events such as the Yule Ball and the Battle of Hogwarts, but aside from that, she’s just a teacher with a friendly personality.
