20 Recent Movie Moments EVERYONE Hated

If a movie's going to be bad, at least it can hopefully be a little unpredictable, but the Chris Pratt-starring sci-fi thriller Mercy was ultimately both awful and totally lacking in surprise.

The story follows Detective Chris Raven (Chris Pratt), who is framed for murdering his wife (Annabelle Wallis) and given 90 minutes to prove his innocence before an AI judge, Maddox (Rebecca Ferguson), executes him.

So, the prevailing question is - who set Chris up?

Attentive audiences are sure to be almost immediately suspicious of Chris' AA sponsor Rob, given that he's the only other character in the film played by an actor of note - Chris Sullivan.

And so, when it's eventually revealed that Rob framed Chris in revenge for his own brother being executed by the AI court which Chris championed, it feels like a foregone conclusion.

It would've made more sense to cast a lesser-known actor in this role and use Sullivan as a red herring supporting character. Instead, he looked guilty as sin the minute he turned up.
