2. Casanova - Casanova
Giacomo Casanova will forever be known as a massive womaniser. And although to a historian the story of his life offers more than just that, to the general populace his love of the fairer sex is his defining trait. So naturally youd expect the film adaptation of life be something so raucous itd make Christian Grey blush. Not quite. While the film got an R rating in America its 12 (PG-13 equivalent) in the UK should tell you that it really isnt pushing any boundaries, with the film appearing completely disinterested in exploring the sexual drive of the character. Casting Heath Ledger as the lothario, the film was a much more pandering mainstream affair than the reputation of Casanova befits, with no effort being put in to get him to look or even sound Italian. It didnt help that the same year BBC released a much better take on Casanova starring David Tennant, who surprisingly felt much more suited to the role.
