Among those to be credited for the film's script is Mike Mignola, who's joined by Andrew Cosby and Christopher Golden.

Mignola, famous for creating the titular character in 1993, has written and drawn the bulk of Hellboy's bibliography, going so far as to helm several spin-offs, short-stories and more during his involvement with the H-boy universe. Titles revolving around the B.P.R.D., Abe Sapien, Lobster Johnson and more have all worked their way into the Dark Horse lineup at some point, each maintaining the writer's signature style and the universe's own unique vibe.

All could quite easily lead their own film.

Point being, having Mignola involved in the film's production is a brilliant move, and will ensure the project stays true to its roots in a way previous attempts couldn't quite manage. Having a hand in the script will certainly help, and while it's impossible to gauge how the story will turn out, it's unlikely that it'll deviate heavily from - or do wrong to - the original comic.
