The Hobbit: 10 Things You May Have Missed In The Battle Of The Five Armies
7. Changes From The Desolation Of Smaug
Although the trilogy was shot at the same time and the movies released in rather quick succession, there's still some moments that differ between films. Nothing as egregious as Luke and Leia kissing, but to the eagle-eyed they do stand out. The biggest admittedly came between the first two movies; the Smaug seen in the prologue of An Unexpected Journey was a four-legged beast, with wings on his back, rather than the wyvern unveiled in The Desolation Of Smaug (this was corrected for the film's Extended Edition). With The Battle Of The Five Armies, the change is a little more subtle, but most certainly there. At the end of The Desolation Of Smaug Bard is arrested because Stephen Fry is an slimeball and thrown in Laketown's prison, which appears to be part of one of the rickety buildings. However, come Smaug's attack in the next film, the jail cell has moved to an overpass, just so bard can comically make his escape.
