20 Horror Franchises That NEED To Come Back
12. Jaws
Steven Spielberg's Jaws is of course one of the most iconic horror films - and most iconic films period - of all time, as led to a trio of increasingly less-successful and more widely ridiculed sequels.
By the time 1987's Jaws: The Revenge came out and audiences had to ponder whether a shark could hold a vendetta, it was clear that the series had so thoroughly run its course.
But time and time again, Hollywood has proven that audiences absolutely love killer shark movies and wild animal horror in general, so there's absolutely some latitude for a new take on Jaws.
While a Jaws remake is basically considered sacrilege, and one suspects Spielberg might be able to stop it from happening during his lifetime, the brand name carries so much heft that Jaws 5 would surely be a massive hit even if it ended up being terrible.
A legacy sequel probably makes the most sense, even with so many original cast members having long since passed away or likely being too old to return in any substantial capacity.
Again, though, the buck probably stops with Spielberg, who may well prefer for the franchise to remain deep underwater.
