20 Horror Movie Happy Endings Nobody Saw Coming

9. The Invisible Man (2020)

2020's surprisingly effective reimagining of The Invisible Man stacked the deck deep against protagonist Cecilia (Elisabeth Moss), who has to not only deal with her monstrously abusive ex, Adrian (Oliver Jackson-Cohen), but the fact that he's a mad scientist with an invisibility suit which he uses to torment and gaslight her.

Basically, Adrian convinces most everyone in Cecilia's midst that she's losing her mind, culminating in him murdering her sister Emily (Harriet Dyer) and framing her for it.

But Cecilia ends up getting a basically best-case-scenario ending, as she's not only able to kill Adrian by using his own invisibility suit against him, but with Adrian and his brother Tom's (Michael Dorman) acts exposed to the world, she's cleared of her sister's murder.

And on top of this, the final scene even suggests she's managed to overcome her long-standing trauma. Quite the turnaround from the absolute pit that Cecilia was in at the end of the second act.
