How 13 MCU Actors Reacted The First Time They Saw Their Costumes

That first-time costume experience is normally a very exciting time, as evidenced by most of the entries on this list. Just imagine being a Marvel superhero - acting gigs don't get much better than that.

However, for Tom Holland, "exciting" would be the wrong word to use.

The young actor was cast as Peter Parker/Spider-Man in the summer of 2015, and he didn't have much time to celebrate before the hard work began. He started shooting Captain America: Civil War pretty much straight away, and this rushed schedule meant that his first time wearing the Spidey suit fell a little bit flat.

In fact, the schedule was so rushed, that Holland's suit wasn't even tailor-made. Instead, he had to wear his stunt double's, and because this double was bigger and bulkier than Holland, the costume was loose, saggy, and far from a perfect fit.

Holland said he was "disappointed" with this experience, stating that he looked like "a really sad version of Spider-Man".

I imagine he looked something like this:

In 2022, he took charge of WhoCulture and has grown it into the biggest Doctor Who channel on YouTube, and one of the biggest Doctor Who communities on the web full-stop. He has been writing and video editing since his early teens, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers, off the back of a burning obsession with the Matt Smith era of the show. Like many his age, he first got into Doctor Who with the 2005 revival, but has since gone back and fallen in love with the classic years too. If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order, or to give you a random factoid about the making of Gridlock, Danny is the person to ask!
