It’s unlikely Disney+ would ever want to release any Marvel-related series that is too graphic, but if they wanted to skew to a more mature audience then Savage Avengers would be a sure-fire hit.

The comic book series launched in 2021 and sees Elektra and The Punisher join forces with Wolverine, Venom, Doctor Voodoo and Conan the Barbarian. A rare example of a comic book having a parental advisory warning, there’s no shortage of graphic violence in some jaw-dropping fight sequences that would be incredible to see in live-action.

Savage Avengers would be a great way to introduce Wolverine to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but also gives an opportunity to reintroduce Elektra and The Punisher following their stints on the Marvel Netflix series. Elektra has always been a fan-favourite, and while the Jennifer Garner-starring solo film was a box office flop, the character has so much potential to show a grittier side to the Marvel heroine.

The Punisher’s appearance in Daredevil and his own spin-off series was hugely popular with Marvel fans, so it’s almost a guarantee that we will see Jon Bernthal reprise his role as Frank Castle, the vigilante anti-hero.
