4. Plutarch, Haymitch & Some Of The Victors Conspire To Rescue Katniss

Haymitch Peeta As the tributes attempt to act out Beetee's high-tech plan to harness lightning to electrocute the surviving Career Tributes (and not to bring down the arena as he secretly intends in the book,) they are foiled by the remaining Careers who attack and scatter the tributes, as well as a confusing change in the force-fields that blows Beetee up. Katniss however remembers the helpful exposition scene earlier in the film where Beetee explains power overloading in force-fields (which feels totally natural and in no way a giant signpost for the end of the film) and fires an arrow, wrapped in copper wire at the arena's exterior dome to electrocute it and break the force-field. That causes a hole in the dome, as well as leaving her with comedy black singeing like a cartoon character, into which a plane appears, rescuing Katniss and flying off into the sunset with her unconscious. She wakes to find the ship contains Plutarch Heavensbee, revealed to be a rebellion leader, as well as Haymitch, an unconscious but alive Beetee and Finnick, who are all in on the plot to save Katniss and lead a revolution against the Capitol.
