10 Upcoming Horror Movies You Aren't Ready For

8. Evil Dead Burn

After Evil Dead Rise became the most successful entry in the Deadite-filled franchise to date, a sequel seemed inevitable.

While the director this particular Evil Dead entry, Sebastien Vanicek, has kept plot details locked down, what has been shared so far sounds very promising indeed. Vanicek said he wants to make "a nasty movie, a movie that hurts" with Evil Dead Burn. While speaking to Variety, he explained how -

"The ambition remains the same as with Infested (his previous film) to create a visceral, sensory experience that punches the audience in the gut. I want people to feel physically drained when they leave the theatre."

The teaser (which is beautifully choreographed in a single tracking shot) shows the protagonist sprinting and scurrying around in hysterics while an unseen force slaughters everyone around her. The sequence is chaotic, relentless, and darkly playful, all of which scream Evil Dead. As a result, it feels like Vanicek is doing all he can to capture the spirit of Sam Raimi's classic series.

And with Evil Dead Wrath set for release in 2028, the groovy IP has no intention of staying dead.
