11. Heat 2
While some might initially think that producing a sequel to Michael Mann's legendary 1995 heist thriller Heat is a fool's errand, it truly feels like the stars are aligning for this follow-up to be something very special indeed.
Above all else, it helps that the 2022 novel on which Heat 2 is based received rave reviews upon release, most lauding it as a part-prequel, part-sequel story that only deepened the original.
And it gets better from there, because Mann has roped in two of the finest actors of their generation for the lead roles.
Heat 2 will be fronted by Leonardo DiCaprio as Chris Shiherlis, previously played by the late Val Kilmer, and Christian Bale as Vincent Hanna, previously portrayed by Al Pacino.
That's nothing if not a dream pairing, considering the duo have never appeared in a film together and it's easy to imagine them having absolutely electrifying screen chemistry.
Elsewhere Stephen Graham is in talks to play Robert De Niro's Neil McCauley, and Adam Driver is said to be circling the film's main antagonist role.
That quartet alone would make for a stupid-good ensemble, to say nothing of the other names who will inevitably join the wider roster.
