Incredibles 2: 10 Things We Want To See

5. A Bigger Universe

The end of The Incredibles saw some big changes, not just to the family, but to the country. Though we don't get into all the legal particulars (maybe there was a superhero registration act?), it's clear that Bob, Helen, the kids and Frozone can now suit up anytime they want without worrying about being slapped in handcuffs. The overall superhero population still seems to be pretty low, but that's likely to change now that super work has been re-legalized. Ratatouille showed that Bird could juggle a lot of challenges in one climax, and that kind of busy action is perfect for a crowded superhero world. No matter how friendly a superhero community is, crowding means competition. Green Arrow looks pretty impressive until you put him next to Superman. In the old days, Dash and Violet's greatest challenge was holding back among their peers. Now it might be keeping up with them. Plus, it'd just be fun to see Pixar design more super-characters. There's a theory running around that Pixar has its own cinematic universe-- that WALL*E is set in The Incredibles' world's future, and Brave is set in its past. We're rooting for the Toymaster, a benevolent version of the Toyman whose army of Buzz Lightyears really do seem almost... alive...
