6. Time Is Of The Essence
Interstellars plot was derived from famed physicist Kip Thornes theories about the existence of wormholes in space that, theoretically at least, have the potential to connect widely separated regions of space-time. He was present in the role of scientific consultant throughout production, and relativity is set to be a key factor in the films plot. One of Interstellars trailers features dialogue in which McConaughey is warned: Every hour on that planet will be seven years back on Earth. As such, the films plot is bound to involve some high-stakes, race-against-the-clock action that will have dramatic consequences for all of its key players. What is certain at this point is that, on Earth at least, we are likely to see a significant passage of time elapse. According to IMDB, Coopers daughter Murph is played by three separate actresses, including Jessica Chastain, and several other characters also have more than one actor playing them. At this point, it is impossible to say how this will all play out, but if some or all of the Endurance crew make it back to Earth, its a fair bet life as they knew it will have changed significantly.
