The Interview: 18 Insane Moments You Won't Believe
13. Dave & Kim's Bromance
Arguably the funniest aspect of the entire movie is the growing bromance between Skylark and Kim (Randall Park) once they meet. It all begins as they're sitting in one of Kim's tanks talking, and realise their mutual love for the positive message behind Katy Perry's hit song Firework, with Kim declaring, "Sometimes I feel like a plastic bag...", and they also bond over their fondness for Margaritas. In a beautiful montage set to Firework, they joy-ride the tank, and Skylark fires a giant missile into a forest. The two continue to bond by playing basketball and drinking Margaritas, with Kim revealing to Skylark that he does, in fact, pee and poo, while they also share stories about their fathers expressing disappointing in them (namely Kim Jong-il's belief that drinking Margaritas was gay). Cut to a hilarious montage of the two getting wasted, doing karaoke, and hanging with gorgeous scantily-clad women (including a game of Spin the Bottle in which the two guys make out). Skylark returns back to the living quarters completely in love with Kim, while Aaron attempts to remind him that Kim has done all this to manipulate him. The illusion is shattered, however, when Kim expresses violent desires at dinner, and Skylark then realises that the fancy food store he'd been shown was full of fake food in order to trick him. Kim tries to bribe him further by gifting him a replacement of his dead dog, Digby, which appears to work, but during the interview, Skylark comes back around and completely crucifies Kim, bringing the bromance to an end.
