Iron Man 3: 5 Things It Got Right & 5 Things It Got Wrong

1. The Arc Reactor Removal

ironman3arcreactor Okay, now this bugged me a lot. For me, the arc reactor is an essential part of who Tony is, so to remove it feels like he's had his soul extracted. But that's not even my biggest issue with this. If it was so easy to remove the arc reactor and the shrapnel from Tony's chest, why didn't he do it sooner? Why did he make a new one when the first one started malfunctioning in the first movie? Why didn't he just get it removed there and then? More to the point, I'm fairly sure that it was explicitly pointed out in the first movie (during his cave encounter with Yinsen) that there was no way the shrapnel could be removed, as doing so would outright kill Tony. If it had been removed over a period of time, after extensive research in to it had been carried out and medical advancements had been developed, then it might have made sense. But it was like he just decided to have it removed willy nilly and next thing you know it was out. There was no way it should have been so simple and it devalued a lot of what had occurred in previous movies. Dishonourable mention: Why was there no AC/DC?! What did you thing Iron Man 3 got right? What did you think it got wrong? Do you agree with the points in this article? Let us know in the comments box below.
