Is Jackson going to shoot "The Hobbit"?

200px-Hobbit_cover.jpgApparentaly according to theonering.net a "spy" was recently in the New Line Cinema office where "The Hobbit" was marked on the calendar for July 2007. More info from Dark Horizons... "I was in New Line's NY offices to discuss upcoming projects when I clearly saw something very intriguing on a year planner. 'The Hobbit' was clearly marked on what looked like July 2007". Well hardly a reliable confirmation but I suppose Peter Jackson has made it no secret that he wishes to shoot The Hobbit at some point. And folks it's Jackson's if he wants to do it, after the huge money The Lord of the Rings made (and is still making with new dvd's) New Line won't stop him. Chances are it probably will be sooner rather than later because Jackson will no doubt want to cast Ian Holm and Ian McKellan before they get to old to believeably be in a prequel to The Lord of the Rings trilogy. Production on the Hobbit to start in July might not be so far fetched. He should finish shooting The Lovely Bones by then and it would explain why he is only producing on Halo and The Dam Busters remake, rather than directing. source - theonering, dark horizons
