3. The Pacing Is Terrific

Even though the film clocks in at a fairly hefty 135 minutes, there's barely a moment where it feels like it's dragging its feet or outstaying its welcome.

The first half generally focuses more on the character development of the Losers' Club with the occasional peppering of horror shenanigans, while the second half is the more theatrical thrill-ride.

Muschietti knows just when to cut away and when to let scenes play, ensuring that the pacing feels just right, and the movie effortlessly sees out its lengthy run-time.

Plus, King's source material is absolutely massive, so there was clearly a lot to cram in.
