9. The Entire Rare Breeds Safari Hunt Sequence From Octopussy
Hold the neigh saying please. While many would not be alone in claiming Octopussy to be their least favorite Bond film, this entire sequence is just too appropriate not to mention. Octopussy is a movie that can either be enjoyed for being completely ridiculous (yes, the picture is of James Bond as a clown) or entirely hated depending on the person. Either way, relax, it's only number nine on the list. This moment starts with Bond in a body bag. After freaking out his disposers by acting like a mummy coming back to life he then tears out of his fabric tomb and runs pell-mell into the jungle while hundreds of native hunters come running after him with rifles and elephants. Bond then proceeds to swipe away a tarantula, tell a surprisingly tame tiger to sit, a snake to hiss off, unties a elephant rider's harness, burns a leech off his chest with a lighter, flees from a alligator, and swing from vines while giving a Tarzan yell all within the span of five minutes. Impressive, no? As James waves good-bye to the hunting party after his hide, making his getaway on a tour boat, the villain of the film comments, "James Bond is a very rare breed, soon to be extinct." Maybe that read better on paper. Oh well.
