10. Licence To Kill
Artist: Gladys KnightFilm: Licence To Kill http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pw8_LTu07Jo Ah, this is where we get into the good stuff. This is one hell of an atypical, classic Bond theme with a real diva belting out a catchy tune that unashamedly steals from Goldfinger. It had been a while since wed heard a Bond theme like this, and this is a damn good one, Knights vocals unsubtle but wonderful and an interesting contrast to a film that really shook up the Bond formula- its nice to have something familiar in amongst an overhaul. 9. We Have All The Time In The World
Artist: Louis ArmstrongFilm: On Her Majestys Service http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YJeEwkVoUpk This is just beautiful. Its a crying shame this was used in the end credits and not the opening titles, but it makes sense. Consider the devastating event that has just occurred before it starts up, and its heartbreakingly beautiful. Delicate and tortured, it was also Louis Armstrongs last recorded song, and the last original piece we would hear from his rich, rough vocal chords. I could listen to this on a loop for weeks. Sorely underrated in the bond theme canon, I feel.
