6. Insidious Chapter 2
The original Insidious took the horror genre by storm last year, relegating the scares to a more subtle pacing that has seemingly disappeared in most modern horror films. Without delving too far into the original yet, it was definitely flawed but left open for the inevitable sequel that were discussing now. Aside from being the most worthless horror film from James Wan though, its also his worst film in general, coming across as an uninspired train wreck that slaps way too many plot threads together incoherently. Furthermore, all subtlety is abandoned as Chapter 2 opts for shameless jump scare after jump scare. Its the blatant unintentional humor that truly kills the sequel though, which probably stems from how absurd the film is as a whole. Insidious Chapter 2 takes the deflating final act of its predecessor and runs wild with it, culminating into a jumbled mess of a film.
