Jamie Dornan: 10 Previous Roles You May Have Missed

10. Marie Antoinette

Having worked as a model for the likes of Calvin Klein and Armani for the first few years of his adult life, Dornan was - aged just 23 - cast as royal Swedish hunk Count Axel von Fersen in Sofa Coppola€™s lavish period piece Marie Antoinette. As Fersen, Dornan is required to do little more than look good in his 18th century duds, as Kirsten Dunst€™s title character ogles and subsequently begins an illicit affair with the Count based largely on the desirability of his abs. Still, this was a breakthrough role - Coppola based Fersen€™s distinct look on Adam Ant, and Dornan luckily gets the task of standing out and looking pretty in a film that€™s all about appearance. Hollywood wouldn€™t come calling again until almost a decade later, with Fifty Shades, but Antoinette had put Dornan on the map all the same.
