Jay Roach to tell us about his HISTORY OF SEXUAL FAILURES

Last year, especially if you live in the U.K, you might have stumbled across Chris Wait's documentary A COMPLETE HISTORY OF MY SEXUAL FAILURES which was a self biographical reflection from Wait to find out ex-girlfriends from his past perceived him. A scary idea huh? The kind that comes when your at the lowest point in your love life, like Rob Gordon in HIGH FIDELITY and your find yourself looking more in the past than the future, which is never a good thing. The documentary went down well at Sundance and OWF'S Mike Edwards"found it cleverly cut and liberally spread with self-deprecating humour". Unsuprising with it's very marketable concept, Variety say this morning that Jay Roach (MEET THE PARENTS, AUSTIN POWERS) has his eye on it and has struck a deal with I AM LEGEND producer Neil Mortiz and Universal Pictures to remake it as a narrative comedy film. Jay Reiss has been tapped to write the screenplay revolving around the key question, "What's wrong with me?".

Roach will wait and see how the script turns out before deciding if he wants to direct. His next movie is DINNER FOR SCHMUCKS, the remake of a ten year old French comedy that will star Steve Carell and Paul Rudd. Either of them, could be marketed around this idea and it would make money. THE 40 YEAR OLD VIRGIN proves that.
