3. Galbatorix - Eragon
2006's Eragon was clearly a case of Malkovich sniffing franchise bait, given that the source novel of the same name spawned a hugely popular series of books, yet those who watched the film were left scratching their heads as to why. To be fair to the actor, he gives a far more alive performance this time, playing the evil King Galbatorix, and though the script severely limits his scope, he makes his best effort to ham the part up, emphasising every syllable and sound for the maximum cheese factor. Malkovich's silly work just about makes the film scarcely memorable, though the narrative itself is just a murky rip-off of Star Wars, The Lord of the Rings and countless other blockbuster movies that it absolutely cannot measure up to. Thankfully, the movie never got a sequel, though this just caused Malkovich to slum it even more...
