John Travolta: 5 Awesome Performances And 5 That Sucked

And 5 That Sucked...

5. Emil Kovac - Killing Season (2013)

For all the brilliant performances Travolta has given us over the years, he's delivered some pretty horrid ones too. Sporting some deplorable facial hair, and an accent so bad that it sounds way more like a drunken Borat than any Serbian who ever lived on this planet, Travolta's performance in violent flop Killing Season is consistently cringeworthy. Killing Season might have had the attractive aspect of pairing together Robert De Niro and John Travolta for the first time as lead stars, but this cat-and-mouse bloodbath remained strictly a limited release - and it's easy to see why. De Niro shuffles through the picture without ever bothering to put in any more than a half-arsed effort, whilst Travolta's performance borders on hilarity, thanks to an accent that floats somewhere between a gulp and the sound of someone dancing across hot coals. Film critic Peter Sobczynski neatly summarised the strange performance by Travolta in his review of Killing Season, stating how the actor "fully and completely commits to his performance, a move that would be laudable if it were not for the fact that the end results are so laughably bad".
