John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum Review: 8 Ups & 2 Downs
3. The World-Building Is Terrific

One of the strongest facets of the John Wick series has been the unexpected strength of its world-building, with the first film establishing a crowded underworld of assassins governed by a surprisingly strict and even dignified set of rules.
John Wick 2 expanded upon this by introducing the shadowy overarching council of crime lords known as the High Table, and yet again, the third film furthers the mythology of this world in many meaningful ways.
Between the countless seedy hideouts, the characters within and a more detailed explanation of the various rules and regulations that govern the Continental, John Wick 3 at once demystifies this world and also leaves plenty of room for future elaboration - be it in another movie or the already-announced TV series.
It is this attention-to-detail which, among other things, really helps the franchise stand out from other revenge-fuelled action flicks.
