4. Joe - Looper
Casting Joseph Gordon-Levitt as a young Bruce Willis really shouldn't have worked; they don't look or sound anything alike. That didnt stop him having a try though, and thank goodness he did because he managed to outshine the veteran actor in his own movie. Despite being encased in some distracting prosthetics to give him more of a resemblance to Willis, Levitt does such a good job of mimicking the actor that in some scenes its easy to double take. The performance goes beyond being an imitation though, with Levitt bringing true depth to the character. Joe is an assassin that has to address to the morality of his job, and in doing so comes face-to-face - quite literally - with the monster he'll eventually become. The character is a tricky part to play as Joe's not exactly sympathetic, yet Levitt gives him enough of a soul that his redemptive act at the end feels completely organic. If they need someone to play a young John McClane in Die Hard: Year One - and sadly they do - they know who to call on.
