Jungle Cruise Review: 6 Ups & 4 Downs

5. The Rock & Emily Blunt's Terrific Chemistry

By far the one single reason that Jungle Cruise works as well as it does is the sizzling chemistry between Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt.

The film is categorically stolen by Blunt, whose scientist Dr. Lily Houghton is a highly appealing ball of charm and moxie, and she's paired exceptionally well opposite Johnson's more straight-laced skipper Frank Wolff.

While few would consider the two a natural screen pairing, they play off one another fantastically, and it's plainly obvious that they had a blast working together.

Even when the material doesn't exactly sing, you can't fault their combined commitment to making the movie as energetic and entertaining as possible.
