Jupiter Ascending: 8 Things You May Have Missed

3. Nesh The Elephant Splice's Name

Just imagine how bonkers Jupiter Ascending would have been had Caine been spliced with a more extreme animal? It's not even like The Wachowskis didn't flirt with the idea - they certainly explored the different cross-species, to pretty extreme levels. It's impossible to miss Nesh, the elephantine pilot of the Aegis ship, who with a bit more screen-time could have been the film's equivalent of Admiral Ackbar (funny face, silly lines), but you could easily not take in his name. Obviously Nesh's inspired by Ganesha, Hinduism's trunked God of Wisdom. When coupled with a dog splice called Caine and a bee-obsessed soldier called Stinger, it's clear the people who created a chosen one whose name is an anagram of one are still refusing to go to the top of their game.
