In Real Life: Tyrannosaurus rex was one of the largest land predators to ever exist. The most complete skeleton measures the dinosaur at 40 feet in length and 13 feet at the hips. With a name literally meaning tyrant lizard king, this carnivore was likely an opportunistic eater. Despite its willingness to scavenge, however, Tyrannosaurus was quite possibly the ultimate apex predator of its time. In The Films: With gaping jaws filled with jagged teeth, speed clocked at upward of 32 miles per hour, and a roar to loosen bladders, Tyrannosaurus rex is undoubtedly the scariest and most iconic of the Jurassic Park gallery of dinos. As the first dinosaur to breach the fences and the first species to reach the mainland, Tyrannosaurus has by far the most epic kills of any of the films so far. MVP Moment: After several teases, the mighty Tyrannosaurus finally makes a full-body appearance as it breaks through the non-electrified fences. With rain lashing against its massive form and lightning flashing its silhouette on screen, the T-rex stalks between the two cars and roars into the night. The consequences of John Hammonds hubris are realised on Isla Nubla, and five tiny humans discover the inadequacy of their protections. Honorable Mentions: Donald Gennaro is gobbled up in one bite as he cowers in a bathroom, and Eddie Carr is killed as a pair of Tyrannosaurs rips him apart like a wishbone. Confirmed Kills: 6 humans, 2 raptors, and the entire crew of the S.S. Venture
Fiction buff and writer. If it's on Netflix, it's probably in my queue. I've bought DVDs for the special features and usually claim that the book is better than the movie or show (and can provide examples). I've never met a TV show that I won't marathon. Follow on Twitter @lah9891 .
