3. Spinosaurus
In Real Life: One of the largest carnivorous dinosaurs currently known to man, Spinosaurus may have measured over 50 feet from head to tail. Exclusively carnivorous, Spinosaurus was named for the series of neural spines that protruded from the vertebrae and formed a sort of sail when covered by the flesh of an intact specimen. With a snout that resembles a crocodile more than a Tyrannosaur, Spinosaurus was a highly formidable predator. In The Films: Spinosaurus made its big screen debut in the beginning of Jurassic Park III, emerging from the flora of Isla Sorna to harass Dr. Grant and the Kirbys after their crashlanding. Dwarfing even the Tyrannosaurus that helpfully shows up to provide scale, Spinosaurus was a successfully spellbinding addition to the Jurassic Park menagerie. MVP Moment: While the epic Spinosaurus vs. T-rex showdown was certainly a memorable sequence of the third movie, the Spinosaurus€™ final appearance in which it nearly drowns the entire rescue party in a harrowing stormy river sequence from which the principle characters only just emerge with their lives is certainly the dino's best. Honorable Mention: The Spinosaurus breaks the neck of a Tyrannosaurus in a brief but violent showdown that introduced Spinosaurus as the big bad of Jurassic Park III. Confirmed Kills: 2 humans, 1 T-rex
