14. Phil Tippett-Inspired Line: "Don't You Mean Extinct?" - Jurassic Park
One of the reasons why Jurassic Park has dated so well in the decades since its release is Spielberg's decision to use a mixture of CGI and practical effects - as great as the stampeding hordes of dinosaurs look, the puppet and costume work for many of the close ups really pays off. The debate between practical and visual effects managed to make its way into the script as an easter egg - when Ian Malcolm utters the line "don't you mean extinct?" this is a deliberate reference to a conversation between Spielberg and effect pioneer Phil Tippett while discussing the future of practical effects.
