JP Gates The first Jurassic Park roared into the theaters in 1993, The Lost World: Jurassic Park debuted in 1997, and Johnston's Jurassic Park III made its box office run in 2001. In other words, the first three films came out every four years, like clockwork. What was also like clockwork with those films? They got just a little bit worse every time a new one was produced. Were they more worried about riding the popularity wave of the franchise than developing a really great story? Possibly€ The fourth installment has been rumored and talked about since almost the day after Part 3's release, twelve years ago. And you can be sure that Executive Producer Steven Spielberg has been mulling over potential plot-lines for at least that long. 12 years of plot development is enough to make me think that this is going to be a story worth telling; one I'm more than willing to hear.
