Jurassic Park: Every Death Ranked Worst To Best

15. "The Unlucky Bastard"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cVIS31ghLNQ The Movie: The Lost World Method of Death: Outside of a poor dog that dared to get its attention, the character credited as "The Unlucky Bastard" is the only other resident of San Diego to die on-screen during the Tyrannosaur's rampage. As the dinosaur made his way down one of the city's streets, the man attempted to flee out of its way, only to get plucked away from safety and his screams silenced conveniently obscured from camera behind a parked car. In a way, the death is somewhat goofy, particularly due to the sounds the poor soul makes, and may even seem random to some viewers, but it makes all the more sense when one realises that The Unlucky Bastard is screenwriter David Koepp, who co-wrote the original film's screenplay with author Michael Crichton and tackled the sequel on his lonesome. As it stands, it's a fun little cameo that undoubtedly helped twist the knife in the legal wound of the San Diego Incident's aftermath for InGen.
