Jurassic World: 10 Obscure References You Totally Missed

7. Jeep 29 Was Hammond's In Jurassic Park

The Reference: There's lots of cool throwbacks to the first movie in the sequence set inside the decaying Jurassic Park visitor's centre, but one of the most obscure is the jeep that Zack and Gray restart. It's not just the same type as that which greeted the original visitors, but actually the exact same vehicle; Jeep 29 was the car Hammond and lawyer Gennaro ride in when first arriving on Isla Nublar. What It Really Means: There's less in the way of hidden subtext to this reference - it's essentially an obscure Easter egg that takes an obsessive knowledge of every frame of Jurassic Park to pick up. But that doesn't mean it's not a cool inclusion of one of the film's nicest nostalgic beats. Interestingly, the whole visitor centre scene has been absent from any of the TV spots, even those after release, meaning the moment is preserved for the handful who're only catching the film a couple of weeks after release.
