9. The Many, Many Parallels

It's impossible to not comment on the ridiculous amount of parallels between Jurassic World and Jurassic Park. Aside from the obvious similarities being in the same series creates, Colin Trevorrow has stuffed the fourth film with plenty of stylistic nods to the original for die-hard fans to spot. Many shots and set pieces - the Indominus Rex looking through the leaves, Owen running from the D-Rex, the use of flares, the various helicopter approaches to the island, children get attacked while trapped in a vehicle - are directly lifted from the original film, but then twisted into the new setting, making for a nice balance of nostalgia and progression.
