4. Don’t Hold Your Breath For More Original Cast Returns
BD Wong returned as Wu, Jeff Goldblum's character was referenced and there was great big statue of Richard Attenborough in Jurassic World, but Sam Neill's Grant and Laura Dern's Ellie were nowhere to be seen. As things stand, it doesn't sound like either of these iconic Jurassic Park characters will show up in Jurassic World 2 either.
Film studios have been known to keep secrets from time to time, but if another original cast member was returning they'd surely want the fans to know. Wong coming back again is all they've announced.
Goldblum was asked by Fandango if he'd be open to a return, and he offered this excellent response: "I'm nothing if not open. I'm like an open-faced sandwich. My door is not always open -- I took the door off. I removed the hinges from the door. I'm too open. I'm like a chicken piccata. What was I about to say? Oh yes, the two [Jurassic Park] movies I did with them were plenty. If I never did anything more, I'd certainly be well satisfied."
Universal hasn't taken Goldblum up on his openness, as far as anyone can tell right now. It's probably wise not to hold your breath.
