Jurassic World 2 Trailer - 11 Big Things We Learned

1. The First Movie's "Militarised Dinos" Plot Thread Has Been Dropped

Jurassic World made a lot of noise about weaponised, militarised dinosaurs. One of the film's main plot points was that Vic Hoskins (Vincent D'Onofrio) wanted to use Owen's trained raptors as attack dogs, sending them to do the military's dirty work.

Jurassic World featured this thread so heavily that it seemed like a sequel only had one way to go, but after watching this trailer, it looks like all that talk about dinosaurs-as-weapons is being left by the wayside.

There isn't a single clear hint in the trailer that suggests Fallen Kingdom will pick up this plot point. Yes, Bayona stated that there's a whole second half of the movie that we don't know about, so yes, this could be about militarised dinosaurs, but we don't know that for certain.

With a lot of dinos presumably dying in the aftermath of the volcano eruption, how would the military even get hold of beasts suitable enough for the job, especially with Owen and Claire - both firmly against Hoskins' plan - watching over the creatures they manage to save?

As is the case with most of our questions in this list, the film itself will hold the answers - and we're going to have to wait until next June to find them out.
