Jurassic World Dominion: 22 WTF Moments

18. Lewis Dodgson Is The Villain... For Some Reason

One of the movie's most head-scratching decisions was having its overarching antagonist be Lewis Dodgson (Campbell Scott), an incredibly minor character from the original Jurassic Park who paid Dennis Nedry to sneak the fertilised dinosaur embryos out of the park in the iconic Barbasol shaving foam can.

In Dominion, Dodgson is now the CEO of Biosyn and basically elevated to the level of cartoon villain, touting a plan so comically Machiavellian as to make even Lex Luthor blush.

Just as bizarre as Dodgson's deranged plan to control the global food chain is the fact that the character is very clearly modelled off tech magnates like Apple's Tim Cook - to who he bears a notable resemblance - and Elon Musk in particular.

Sadly Dodgson is a pretty flat and forgettable villain in the film regardless, in part because Campbell Scott takes the assignment far more seriously than the campy material probably needed.

And honestly, if you're a casual Jurassic Park fan you couldn't really be blamed for failing to realise Dodgson was an existing character at all.
