Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom - 9 Big Questions The Trailer Raises
5. Is Baryonyx The Big Dino Threat?
The original Jurassic Park had the T-Rex, Jurassic Park III had the Spinosaurus, and Jurassic World upped the ante with the introduction of hybrid nasty the Indominus Rex. Every Jurassic movie needs a big dino threat, a towering presence that shakes the theatre to its foundations. So what's Fallen Kingdom's?
From the look of things, it could be the Baryonyx, the hulking predatory beast that can be glimpsed inside a lava-drenched facility in the trailer footage.
Once again, the T-Rex looks like she will be an anti-hero of sorts, vicariously saving the good guys from other threats while chomping her way to the top of the pecking order. In the trailer, Rexy intercepts a Carnotaurus before it can attack Owen.
Baryonyx would certainly pose a threat, but there's an argument to say it would be a smaller one than the likes of the Spinosaurus and Indominus Rex, so perhaps this role will be fulfilled by a dinosaur that is yet to be revealed.
